This book is not just about connections. Nor is it about one figure in particular. On the contrary, it is about the thread that connects sinister individuals - as they charm and worm their way through history; how society turns a blind eye to the trickery of real-life figures; how it falls upon us to recognize the scam.

It explores the kind of connections that bind together events and the people who make them happen, which at first seem unrelated, but have a curious element in common, one that allows some to cross boundaries many would never consider.

Images of narcissism play out in this stream of consciousness tour de force, as it unveils abuses in the world of business and politics. Presented are a vicious circle of characters and a cycle of exploitation, as history replays if not repeats itself. Cause and effect take on new meaning in a fight for a better world, a healthier life and sustainability for the planet.

White noise drowns out messages and the sound is deafening.

Look beyond the obvious and glimpse a world of diabolical people, some famous; some infamous; some anonymous; some hidden behind a veil.

Distractions of the smoke and mirrors kind surround us. The circus is in town. They’re putting on a parade.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Such a gut-enraging book came to me recently: In the Company of Narcissists: Somebody Always Pays, 2015, by Kimberley A. Taylor. Quickly, quickly it must be read. So many things to do and consider, but this ominous black book requires attention. A “narcissist,” a sort of autophiliac solipsist, could that be anyone I know? Surely not I, because I’ll never qualify as a good or bad narcissist after all! After required selfishness I slip over to altruistic or empathic behavior sometimes.
Anyway, that’s not what Kimberley Taylor meant by a narcissist. So who’s a visible example? That Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo (Shorty)” Guzmán, who just escaped a second prison term on 11 July 2015 and who caused to be dead thousands of his enemies and innocent people and even his own son, well, THAT’s a narcissist! Those companies who don’t care but for the bottom line and who sue because it’s fun and easy in their copyright paranoia, are they narcissistic or just doing business ruthlessly?
Kim’s book is a blast in the face of narcissists worldwide, a neat easy quick read for exposure value to that unknowing, innocent, hurt world. And it’s going to get worse. She exposed the many misdeeds of some major corporations. To be honest, there are many GMOs I am in favor of. The effects of the use of some GMOs she described resulted in the spiderweb of destructive lawsuits against the little people and a threat to our own government by the companies’ promotion of political inaction against such lawsuits. Let this book guard your thoughts of what has happened around the world narcissistically and who had to suffer and pay because of that institutionalized uncaring behavior.

In today's environment, narcissism seems to be the norm. The outrageous behavior Kim Taylor outlines so well makes us stop and think where we are heading. If you laugh or cry, or both, the book is a clarion call to reject the knee jerk response by the narcissists that fill our airways with their bombastic retorts. The people who support the narcissist are the ones that Alexander Hamilton warned us about over 200 years ago. Unfortunately she has enough material for a series of books.
What this book does is put narcissism center stage. Where others dance around the concept, Kim Taylor boldly defines it rather than defends it in some otherwise wishy-washy, maybe it's real or maybe it's just in our imagination, kind of description.

Her stories revolve around political characters, major corporations, scientists and the environment. She uncovers the "crook" in all of them and their heinous abuses of people, animals and the planet.

It is a must-read for anyone who thinks they have been shortchanged and for everyone who feels the backstory should be told.

Atrocities are often hidden from us as children, but it turns out not for our sake. Our kids are still missing the backstory, due to the hero-worship that modern society indulges in and an educational system that serves to reinforce it - a misguided appreciation for the wrong characters.

Quite eye opening!
